That One Guy Issues State of the Union Response

Fresh off his 2020 Democratic presidential bid, former West Virginia congressman That One Guy took the extraordinary step of issuing his own response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech issued February 5th. The official Democratic party response was given by former Georgia state House Minority Leader and 2018 Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) also chimed in with his own unasked for response.

Apparently, this wasn’t enough. That One Guy has decided to add his voice to the mix. In his short speech given from behind the desk at his home office via Skype, That One Guy praised President Trump’s call for bipartisanship, calling it a “a welcome change from his past rhetoric,” predicting that, “President Trump is ushering in a new era in his presidency with these words.” Still, That One Guy had some choice words for President Trump in other areas, including his large focus on immigration.  That One Guy expressed his firm opposition to the wall President Trump wants to build, instead suggesting it just be a large bearded doorway curtain, obscuring the view of America and allowing only those who can manage to push through it to enter the country.

He also noted an area President Trump did not mention: climate change. That One Guy insisted “the climate is changing, that’s a fact, Trump!” before moving on without any further elaboration. He also wanted to reiterate that the Democrats were not going to balk at Trump’s threat not to investigate him. “We will investigate who we want, thank you very much.”

Throughout his short speech, That One Guy made it clear that he is still a human man who wants to have a political career and more importantly, wants his opinions known about everything, regardless of how unremarkable it is! His presidential campaign site is still not up yet, but That One Guy said he still plans to personally call the media to alert them when it is.
