New Course Crosslisted in Linguistics and Gender Studies: Cunnilinguistics

Our students are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and bad at eating pussy too.

Cunninlinguistics (LING-294 and GSWS-294) is open to all undergraduate students, with special priority given to those who need the most guidance in not sucking at going down on people. According to both the Linguistics and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Departments, this course has a 69 person waiting list of male Engineering students.

Taught by visiting professors Judith Butler and Noam Chomsky, Cunninlinguistics will initially explore the theoretical frameworks of feminist Lacanians Luce Irigaray, Julia Kristeva, and Hélène Cixous. While individual fieldwork will likely play a factor within the seminar, both professors highlight that understanding the misogynist disregard for pleasure in women and non-cishet partners will encompass the syllabus. As Butler notes in Gender Trouble, the apparatus of discourses, behaviors, and stylizations of the body produce labels of gender and sexuality. In understanding that genitalia itself is the product of a bodily discourse, students in the 15 person seminar will remove the phantasmagoria surrounding “the pussy” as a sexed organ.

Also, they will, like, learn how to eat “the pussy”.
