January 1st, 2014

2013 was a pretty disappointing year for me. Sure everybody got those cool upgraded screens and scenic virtual running tracks filmed in lush exotic landscapes like New Zealand, myself included, but did that really help? I’m the first to admit it, I was lazy last year. I think I ran maybe a couple times a day, and always with the same crowd. But this year is gonna be different. I’m gonna be a whole new treadmill in 2014!
I know everybody says it, but I really am gonna get people in the gym more. I’m serious, I’m gonna carve out the time to simulate a variable running environment in a climate controlled area, all conveniently located near the heart of campus. I’m being dead serious, this year I’m going to help students efficiently burn calories without becoming a hassle or feel like an obligation.
Because this year is different. This year, I’m not gonna just sit there, prepared to offer an exercise experience that is both easily accessible and fulfilling. I’m not going to just provide an opportunity for cardiovascular training for those ranging from the entry level to marathoner status. No, this year, I’m going to actually make people want to come back. This isn’t just going to be a two week burst of energy, only to fade back into disuse and neglect. People are going to start strong an stay strong, returning day after day, week after week, until it is a fully engrained habit. This is going to be a lifestyle change! 2014 is going to be a great year.
