Other Classic Literature Getting Sequels, Prequels, and Three-Part Spinoffs

Last week, Harper Lee made headlines by telling the world she was still alive. She also announced a sequel to her novel, An Introduction to SparkNotes To Kill a Mockingbird. Other novelists and their estates have also caught “sequelitis,” and now want to cash in by ruining great works of classic literature. Punch Bowl has acquired a list of working titles for novels, short stories, and plays also getting the “literary universe” treatment:

  • The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit: Peter Jackson Retcon Editions
  • “The Mostest Dangerous Game”
  • “The [CENSORED] in the Rue Morgue”
  • The Pitcher in the Pumpernickel
  • Some Pretentious Bullshit Jack Kerouac Never Published

According to the estates, many of the proposed sequels will contain Spider-Man.
