Philadelphia, PA- Following on the heels of Eliud Kipchoge’s historic sub-2 hour marathon run on Saturday, Penn senior Coco Samberg (C’20) broke history this past Sunday by finishing a Friends marathon in 1:58, a whole minute less than Kipchoge’s time.
Coco attributed her success to a combination of training and careful planning. She explained, “I have literally been preparing for this event my entire life. I made it through the entirety of Game of Thrones in one week, so I knew I was ready to tackle this momentous feat.”
When asked about the process, Coco responded, “I had to use 6 different devices simultaneously while playing a different episode on each one at 2x speed. It took some coordination, but luckily I’m good at multitasking since I’m basically a pro at texting while driving.” In regards to the hardship, Coco went on, “I thought about quitting once around season 7 but I knew that I could do it if I just pushed myself a little further.”
Despite her mind-blowing accomplishment, Coco remained humble. “I couldn’t have done this without my parents, who paid for my 5 extra iPads and my [upgraded] Netflix plan.”
