Starting next week, all food trucks on Penn’s campus will become BYOs. While typical BYOs occur in large, spacious restaurants, students will now be able to bring their own into any food truck they desire. This new initiative is being spearheaded by PAFT, the Penn Association of Food Trucks.

“I think this is a great move for both Penn kids and food truck owners,” said Roger Dooley, Penn sophomore. “After the abrupt disappearance of both Don Memo and Salento, Penn kids have been wanting a new BYO option, and this is it!”

While the inside of a food truck can only hold about three people, PAFT expects intelligent Penn kids to somehow still invite all of their friends and have a good time inside the cramped food truck. “It’s technically illegal, but who cares! We’ll be drunk anyways”, said Margaret Lee, a Penn freshman who collaborated with PAFT to create this new initiative.

Penn food trucks will only hold their BYOs from 3PM-6PM on weekdays. “In an effort to encourage kids to forget about their problems after a long day of class, we’re planning on only having BYO hours during afternoons. We feel as if this will help us get a much larger following among students who are skeptical about the practicality of food truck BYOs”, said Dan Johnson, President of PAFT.

“I’m really excited about this new move. I think it’s going to definitely help bring in more business for food trucks,” said Le Anh.
